30-Day Winter Wonderland Walking Challenge
The 30-day Winter Wonderland Walking Challenge is a commitment to incorporating 30-minutes of walking or any physical activity into 30 consecutive days.The challenge is designed to encourage you to incorporate walking or some form of physical activity into your daily routine.Take 30 minutes out of each of the next 30 days to walk anywhere you like outside on the treadmill, in the mall or anywhere that’s most convenient and accessible to you. If you can’t walk and wish to workout that counts! Lupus In Color is launching a Holiday Pouch Drive for Lupus! This year, Lupus In Color is adopting the patients at Henrico Doctors Infusion Center to receive Holiday Pouches, filled with goodies.
I personally spend a lot of time there every month receiving chemo infusions and treatments for my own personal battle with lupus. I understand the importance of receiving items that can make your infusion more comfortable. Our goal is 50+ Pouches! Lupus In Color will fill each pouch with goodies to help make time at the infusion center just a little bit easier.
For as little as $10 you can sponsor 2 pouches for men and women who fight daily for their lives. It’s a small act of kindness that will go a long way.

Lupus In Color will held its first Lupus Empowerment Summit for Lupus Warriors and those who support them on January 28, 2016. This summit will served as a program to encourage, empower and inspire those directly and indirectly affected with lupus. Speakers uplifted to the theme, “Living Under Pressure Understanding Strength” in an effort to encourage lupus warriors to continue fighting hard to live well beyond lupus. There were Mindfulness, Health, Healthy Eating and Empowerment Workshops. Centered around taking lupus by storm beyond the constraints of pain.

Heart disease is a major complication of lupus. It is now a leading cause of death among people with lupus. People with lupus have a significantly increased risk of premature coronary heart disease (CHD) or atherosclerosis, stroke and other cardiovascular-related conditions than those without lupus. Some studies suggest risks of people with lupus are more than 50 times that of the general population.We invite everyone to wear RED to fight heart disease in women. Wearing red In February on National Wear Red Day, will help raise awareness for heart disease and remind women to be healthier today. Pass on the awareness!
