Lupus nephritis is inflammation of the kidney that is caused by systemic lupus erythematous (SLE), Also called lupus. Lupus nephritis happens when lupus involves the kidneys.
There are Five Classes of Lupus Neprhritis:
Class I – Minimal mesangial lupus nephritis.
Class II – Mesangial proliferative lupus nephritis.
Class III – Focal lupus nephritis (active and chronic; proliferative and sclerosing)
Class IV – Diffuse lupus nephritis (active and chronic; proliferative and sclerosing; segmental and global)
