THE 7TH ANNUAL FLIGHT OF THE BUTTERFLIES
Flight of the Butterflies is a lupus awareness campaign sharing stories of the brave lupus warriors. Many don’t understand lupus until they hear the walk of a warrior. Flight of the Butterflies is dedicated to sharing those stories in May for lupus awareness month.
Flight of the Butterfly Kenny Golder Jr.
I was diagnosed when I was thirteen, was put on dialysis for 3 sessions then I was released. My lupus went into remission until my junior year of high school.
My lupus came back and this time my kidney couldn’t be saved. I spent a year on dialysis while still working 2 jobs and staying involved with the bowling team and writing club.. Then in December of my senior year I received a transplant. They called while I was in school and that night I went in to be prepped for the procedure in the morning. My school raised funds for the nkf, as a result I missed 3 months of my senior year due to lupus.
I am now approaching my sophomore year of college at Arizona State. I want one thing for sure and that’s for my music to help with lupus awareness.I have amazing support in Michigan where I live KFC has helped with the cause, as well as my school Dakota, but my friends and family have given the best support.
Lupus In Color is excited to present Kenny Golder Jr.’s story to the world. As a Lupus Warrior he is actively promoting lupus awareness and wearing the armor of strength in doing so.

The author did a very good job high lighting a wonderful young man and his campaign bring awareness to Lupus. The gender pronoun used to identify him was in correct but the story was on point. Kenny is an amazing artist. His support system is strong. The song in tribute to individuals that have been diagnosed with lupus, survivors, and bringing awareness to Lupus is beautiful. Great job Kenny! May he and all lupus survivors takes wings of flight as God continues to deliver. Keep your heads up and keep pressing forward. This was a great story !!!!!
