Flight of the Butterflies, Butterflies of Hope Warrior Stories is a lupus awareness campaign sharing stories of the brave lupus warriors. Many don’t understand lupus until they hear the walk of a warrior. Flight of the Butterflies, Butterflies of Hope Warrior Stories is dedicated to sharing those stories in May for lupus awareness month.

Over 25 years ago this mysterious unique illness took over my body and has been a bully ever since. fighting fatigue, tiredness, muscle aches, legs sores, loss of hair and the unknown of How my body is going to react hour by hour. cancelling trips, dates with friends, struggling with finishing a work day, putting dreams on hold. That’s not even sharing how COVID has affected me. but yet is has taught me to fight like a girl, use my voice to educate my community, friends and family.
13 years ago I founded a fundraiser called Runway for a Cure. an evening full of fun, fashion and a silent auction. An evening where all of us Lupus warriors can feel gorgeous and forget our pain for a few hours. The point is that I have turned this unpredictable journey into a one step at a time journey where I can speak up for myself and other Lupus warriors and find a way to still go after my dream. Lupus is just a bully I fight every day, it does not define who I am! I Take it one moment at a time
You may ask, what keeps me going? Well my faith, the support of my friends and family and love.
