Lupus Mythbusters

MYTH: You can’t get pregnant if you have lupus.
FACT: Lupus raises your levels of the hormone estrogen and may make it more difficult to conceive. Lupus also increases your risk for complications during pregnancy and delivery. But many women with lupus have healthy children.
Pregnancy is no longer considered an impossibility if you have lupus. Advancing technology and better understanding of the disease and its effects on the body have improved pregnancy outcomes over the last 40 years.
