I was diagnosed with lupus in 2018. I have no idea as to how long I’ve actually had it. I never had a good immune system. But, when my husband died in 2014, and other family deaths that followed. The grief, and hardships I had to deal with threw me into a tailspin.
I didn’t know what was happening to me. All I knew was that this wasn’t normal. My life as I had once known was gone.
When I got the diagnosis of SLE and researched the symptoms, it all started to make sense to me. I now am working on making the best of things, the best that I can, and to know and understand my limits.
Lupus In Color is excited to present Brenda Donofrio’s story to the world. As a Lupus Warrior she is actively promoting lupus awareness and wearing the armor of strength in doing so.
