Lupus In Color
12th Annual Flight of the Butterflies
Spreading Lupus Awareness One Butterfly at a time
Let this butterfly flutter all over cyberspace!

While there’s no cure for lupus, current treatments focus on improving quality of life through controlling symptoms and minimizing flare-ups. This begins with lifestyle modifications, including sun protection and diet. Further disease management includes medications, such as anti-inflammatories and steroids.
Medications used to treat lupus can include:
- Anti-inflammatories and over-the-counter pain relievers like aspirin or Tylenol.
- Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatories (NSAIDs) like Ibuprofen or naproxen
- Corticosteroids
- Antimalarials like hydroxychloriquine
- Immunosuppressives (Immune Modulators)
- Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs)Like Belimumab (Benlysta®) & Anifrolumab-fnia (Saphnelo®)
This is your 28th Butterfly of Hope.
