Laps for Lupus

Let’s make the laps count!

15 minutes per day
Walk laps in the pool, swim laps in pool or do water aerobics

Or

15 minutes per day
Walk on a track, at home or in the park

Or

Do a combination of both pool and land walking.

The purpose of Laps for Lupus is to help lupus warriors find more manageable ways to get moving beyond lupus. If you have acess to a pool your laps can be done with water aerobics, swimming or just walking the pool. There are two essential advantages of water exercises: More resistance: Water is denser than air, which means it provides a greater resistance to your movements. Less pain and fatigue: Water offers a buoyancy that reduces the impact of exercises on your body.

Everyone has access to walking. You can complete your laps by taking a walk outside or walking at home. Walking is easy to do and offers many benefits, especially for people with lupus. Walking can help reduce anxiety, depression, and a negative mood. It can also boost self-esteem and reduce symptoms of social withdrawal. It is one of the easiest, most simple, and best ways to improve your health.
