May 5- Lupus Fact
There is no single test to diagnose lupus. Blood and urine tests are used to assess organ involvement and to help diagnose lupus. These laboratory tests include a complete blood count, chemistry panel looking at kidney and liver function, as well as a urinalysis. There are specific blood tests that show inflammation such as the antinuclear antibody(ANA), complement levels, and those that indicate an increased risk of blood clots. Almost all systemic lupus patients have a positive ANA test, but it is important to note that not all ANA positive tests mean you have lupus.
This is your fifth Butterfly of Hope.
We need awareness! We need a cure!
Encourage everyone you know to let it FLY!
