May 6- Lupus Fact

Lupus can affect anyone, regardless of age or ethnicity, but it is more common in people of African, Hispanic, and Asian descent.
African American, Asian, and Hispanic individuals have a more severe disease course and worse outcomes.
The reasons for these disparities are not entirely clear, but they are likely due to a combination of genetic, environmental, and socioeconomic factors. Genetic variations may play a role in the increased susceptibility to lupus in certain ethnic groups, but environmental factors such as exposure to certain infections or chemicals may also contribute. Socioeconomic factors such as access to healthcare and healthcare disparities may also impact disease outcomes.
