THE 12TH ANNUAL FLIGHT OF THE BUTTERFLIES

Flight of the Butterflies is a lupus awareness campaign sharing stories of the brave lupus warriors. Many don’t understand lupus until they hear the walk of a warrior. Flight of the Butterflies is dedicated to sharing those Butterfly of Hope stories in May for lupus awareness month.

I have been diagnosed since November of 2021 at age 42, the same age my mom was diagnosed with Lupus.

The hardest part of having lupus for me is having enough energy for my 2 and 5 year old girls.

I have learned to stop waiting for things to get really bad before taking some sort of action, i.e. medication, going to urgent care, calling the doctor or even going to the ER.

One piece of advice for the newly diagnosed is to trust your instincts as YOU know your body! I kept telling my doctor’s that something wasn’t right so NEVER let up on YOU and how YOU’RE feeling.

On this lupus journey, My girls are my strength!!!
